Manager

Compensation: $47 – $55 per hour (based on experience and education)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager to join our dynamic team! The successful candidate must hold a CPA designation with at least 5 years of Manager experience working in public practice.

We are a small public practice firm located in South Delta! Our firm has been well-established for the past 40+ years. We provide a range of accounting, tax, estate, trust and business advisory services to owner-managed businesses, professional corporations and individuals.

You should be able to interact with staff and clients in a positive and professional manner, be well organized, be able to multitask and manage continuous client filing deadlines. You are efficient with your time and can demonstrate strong communication skills (written and oral) with co-workers and clients. You will also be a mentor to junior staff. Responsibilities:

  • Finalizing and Reviewing of Compilation Engagements including completion of all working papers, adjusting journal entries, and financial statements in accordance with professional and firm standards
  • Preparation and finalization of corporate tax returns (T2), trust/estate returns (T3), and personal income tax returns (T1)
  • Assisting and/or training of CPA accounting students
  • Tax planning and research
  • Knowledge and preparation of GST and other statutory returns
  • Preparation of elections T2054 & T2057
  • Knowledge of payroll for small businesses
  • Preparation of T4’s for payroll, T4A’s and T5018’s for subcontractors, and T5’s for dividends/interest
  • Other miscellaneous payroll functions for clients

Mandatory Requirements:

  • CPA with 5 years Manager experience in public practice
  • Proficient in Excel & Word
  • Knowledge of CaseWare, Jazzit, Taxprep (iFirm)
  • Experience reviewing year end files is a must

Manager 

Compensation: $65 – $85 per hour (based on experience and education)
Employment type: Temporary contract work

This is a temporary role to cover a leave of absence.

    Accounting Technician – CPA Student (Delta)

    Compensation: $27 – $35 per hour (based on experience and education)
    Employment type: Full Time

    Nickiforek Chartered Professional Accountants Inc. is a public practice firm offering accounting, tax and consulting services to small and mid-sized businesses and individuals. Our firm has been serving our clients all over the lower mainland, BC and Canada for more than 40 years.

    We are looking for CPA Student currently in or planning to enter the CPA PER Program (we do not provide any assurance work at our firm). We are looking for someone who is looking for a long-term position as many of our employees have been with our firm for 10+ years.

    Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Full-cycle bookkeeping
    • Prepare year-end documents and working papers for compilation engagements
    • Draft financial information (statements) and corporate tax (T2) returns for Accountants to    finalize
    • Prepare personal (T1) returns
    • Possible assistance with preparation of other information returns Estate/Trusts (T3’s); Payroll (T4’s); Dividends/Interest Payments (T5’s), Subcontractor payments (T5013’s), etc.
    • Eligible to start the CPA program or currently in the program (for CPA student applicants only)
    • Assistance with Payroll and GST filings
    • Assistance with CRA reviews and tax adjustments

    The Qualifications

    • Accounting diploma or degree
    • Eligible to start the CPA program or currently in the program
    • Experience with QuickBooks Online/Desktop/Enterprise, Simply Accounting
    • Experience with Caseware, Taxprep and Jazzit
    • Must be experienced with Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Ability to multi-task, work independently as well as in a team, meet deadlines and learn quickly
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • High standard of integrity and commitment to exceptional client service
    • Committed to a life-long learning approach and constantly improving knowledge pertaining to this position
    • Minimum 2 years experience in a public practice firm
    • Must be fluent in English both orally and written
